I would like to thank everyone who has enjoyed reading our 2013 fishing reports. Our season has come to a end and wish everyone a good fall and winter. Stay tuned next spring for our 2014 reports.

Report:  Saturday adn Sunday the fish were active and we caught 30-40 walleyes each day.  The weather changed the last 2 days and we had to chase the fish, but still did pretty well.

Report:  Weather hot for 3 days then cool.  6 people caught about 800 walleye and 100 pike.  Largest walleye 28 inches, but many 20-24 inchers.  Largest pike 37 1/2 inches.  Few more 32-36 inches.  Another great time at Fawcett lake and with L & M.

Report:  Party of 4, avg 60-70 fish per day.  Mostly trolling.  75% walleyes.  Caught 6 northerns 36+ inches.  41, 40, 38, 37 inches.  Accomadations excellent as always.  Thanks Larry, Mary, and Shane!

Report:  Great trip once again.  Love the upgrades to the cabin with the generator system.  Caught fish in any depth.  Largest pike 35 inches, largest walleye 24 1/2 inches.  Untold numbers of 20-24 inch walleyes.  Thanks Larry, Mary, and Shane.

Report:  Great walleye fishing again!  Hundreds of walleyes caught.  28 inch, 26 1/2 inch, 26 inch, 25 inch, and dozens 20-24 inches.  Several pike chases and grabbed our hooked walleyes.

Report:  Accomodations at L & M where excellent!  Better than the other 7 outfitters Ive used in the past.  Fishing was good with each member of the group catching 30-50 walleyes per day.  Walleye avg range from 15-19 inches.

Report:  Fishing was good, but not up to regular Dobie standards.  Had storms and lightening first 5 days slowed the fishing, much better the last day.  Biggest walleye 21 inches, northern 32 inches.  Ventured down river, lots of walleyes in the river.  New Generator system was great.  Larry and Shane, Thank You!

Report:  Great cabib, weather, and trip.  Generator system was an awesome addition.  Its always great to spend time with family.  Caught 174 fish.  Good size walleyes, alot in the 20 inch plus category.  Trailor hooks and minnows were a must.  Northerns were quiet, but still managed to catch 2 @ 33 inches, 1 @ 36 inches, and 1 @ 41 inches.  Kaminiskag produced huge walleyes numbers while Wright was alittle slow.  But thats where we found the big pike.  Larry, Mary, and Shane Thank You for a great experience.

Report:  Outstanding trip!  Weather warm/hot.  Some thunderstorms, bringing hail and rain.  Fishing was hot.  Pike where too numerous to count.  Many 30-32 inch pike.  Biggest 40 inch monster which was the very first fish caught on the trip!!  Walleye bite was excellent.  Hard to catch a fish small enough to be legal to eat.  Biggest walleyes where 23 inches.  Excellent facilities and service as usual from Larry, Mary, and Shane.  Thank You!

Report:  Accomidations good, really liked the new upgrade with generator system.  Fishing on Wright was good.  Kaminskag was great.  Went to Graniteboss, didnt fish long in there.  Walleyes 23-25 inches where common everywhere.  We noticed the fish on avg where bigger this year than our other trips to Wright lake.

Report:  Good weather all week,  alot of nice sized walleyes overall.  Largest being 22 inches.  No big pike this trip, largest 35 inches.  Most walleyes caught in 3 foot of water.  Cabin, boats, motors, and everything worked great.  Liked the generator system.  L & M is the best.  Thanks for a great trip!

Report:  Wright lake, limited walleye and northern action.  Caught a mink, interesting to take off the hook.  Kaminskag lake, non stop action 20-25 inch walleyes.  Strout lake, no walleye success, some small northerns.  Overall, an excellent trip.  All accomadations were well taken care of, clean and functional.  First trip with L & M, best trip we've ever had.

Report:  Camp and cabin are the best we've expirienced.  Enjoyed the week.  L & M make sure you have everything you need.  Fishing was great.  Hundreds of walleyes, some pike.

Report:  Cold and rainy, but the walleyes were active.  Northerns more active than usual for earily August.  Though it rained gently each day of fishing, the "catching" was excellent.  Accomadations great!  Another fine trip!

Report:  Good week.  No big fish caught.  Fish where scattered.  Fished deeper water for 2 days with out much success, then moved shallower water, found the fish.  Found largest concentration in the reeds between 5-7 foot of water.  Did catch a 12 1/2 inch perch.  Loved the generator system.  Everything worked great.  L & M did a great job as always.

Report:  No issues with cabin or boats/motors.  Did very well fishing on Strout, Granteboss, and Kaminiskeg.  Saw a moose in Strout.  Mainly traveled to the other lakes this year.  Fished each of those lakes 2 days during our trip.  Wright was more diffucult than previous trips to find the walleye and pike.  Did catch a 42 inch pike in Wright though.  Overall, another great trip with L & M.

Report:  Great accominations!  Fishing was really good at many spots on the lake.  Largest walleye 27 inches, then 25 and 24 inches.  35 inch northern.  Weather was a bit cool!  Thanks Larry, Mary, and Shane for making our trip wonderful.

Report:  Cabin was really clean and everything worked well.  As usual!  Pilot was kind enough to not dance and keep his clothes on.  Flight was smooth.  Had a blast!!  Will be back again.  Largest northern 37 inches another another one real close to that size.  One of the kids caught the largest walleye 23 inches.  We all caught lots of 16-20 inch walleyes.  Thanks Adams Gang for another great trip!!

Report:  Great camp, great equipment, with great service.  Wind and rain everyday.  Lots of healthy walleyes 18-20 inches, with a few larger.  Largest northern 40 inches, with afew over 30 inches.  8 year old rookie, 10, and 13 year olds veterans caught fish for dinner everyday and took care of they're dads and uncles!  Best results where at 12-20 foot of water at the north end of the lake.  Water temp was 65-67 degrees F.

Report:  Enjoyed the week of fishing.  Many fish caught.  Northerns up to 27 inches, walleyes up to 20 inches, perch 6 inches.  Fish where everywhere.  Had fun exploring.

Report:  Walleye in usual spots.  10-20 foot of water.  Then storms came in and they scattered.  The key to our trip was pound and move.  Alot of northern in weeds.  Biggest walleye 24 inches, biggest northern 30 inches.  Tough weather.  Wind all week.  Used minnows, leeches, and twister tails.  All amenities where great.  Thanks again L & M.

Report:  Great trip!  New generator system was a luxury.  Temp started at 90 degrees, dropped to 42 degrees late in the week.  Fishing Great.  Big walleye was 24 1/2 inches.  Famous Mike caught a 45 inch pike.  As Always cabin, boats, everything...  Great shape.  Larry, Mary, and Shane, Thank You for making us feel like family.

Report:  Fishing was great.  Hundreds of walleyes and several northerns too.  Too many fish to count!  Largest walleye 27 inches, Largest northern 36 inches.  Even caught a walleye on hook tipped with bubble gum.  Equipment and facilities are top notch.  Recent improvements with the generator system and 2 new electric fridges/freezers where great.  First time in all our trips we had ice coming out of our ears as we where able to make ample amount of ice during the trip.  L & M took the service and equipment up another notch.  Thanks Larry, Mary, and Shane.

Report:  Walleye excellent everyday.  We found we needed to keep moving with the fish to keep on with them.  Some pike mixed in.  Pull through to mini Meen lake was the best spot overall.

Report:  Good walleye fishing.  Caught some nice northerns up to 33 inches.  Live minnows worked the best.  Good clean cabin.  Saw a moose and several bald eagles.

Report:  We found fish.  Biggest pike was 37 inches and biggest walleye 25 inches.  Caught alot of 24 inch class walleyes.  Biggest perch was a monster 5 inches.  Weather was excellent.  The crew becaome delusional and mutanized the captain.  Trained an eagle to fly through hoops.  Best part of the trip...Beer, fish, mosquitos, and the wild women.

Report:  Wow...the big fish lake!  40 inch northern caught on 1/2 oz jighead with 6 pound test.  Largest walleye 27 inches.  3 strikes by northerns on walleye while reeling them in!  735 walleye and 42 northern caught by the 2 of us in all weather types imagineable.  Saw a Pine Martin at the cabin, many eagles, and a duck with 30 duckings!  No question, the BEST outfitter and ultimate fly in ever!  Thanks Larry, Mary, and Shane

Report:  This was our first father/daughter fishing trip.  It was fantastic.  The walleye fishing was very good after the cold front passed.  Of course my daughter caught the biggest fish!  Cabin was a home away from home.  Generator system is great.  Larry, Mary, and Shane-Thank You for all that you do!

Report:  Accomadations A+.  Fishing was good even with the mega mayfly hatches 6 out of 8 days of our trip.  Biggest walleye 24 inches approx 5 pounds.  Biggest northern 34 inches.  Always got our limit of walleyes to eat, it didnt matter what time of day we fished.  Best fishing was at the reef and Wesley River inlet.

Report:  Caught my first 40 inch northern!  The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed.  It was easy to catch our 5 star walleye dinner each night.  We had fun looking at moose tracks in the water as we cooled ourselves from the heat.  Fred also caught a 40 inch northern the morning we flew out to go home!

Report:  Another excellent adventure with L & M.  Weather was hot with little wind for a few days but we changed our tactics to night fishing.  Caught lots of walleyes over 20 inches, and northerns over 30 inches.  Largest walleye 27 inches.  Largest northern 35 inches.  Multiple caribou sightings including a newborn calf.  The generator upgrade to the cabin is an excellent addition.  Thanks Larry, Mary, and Shane for your great service.  Same time, same place again next year!

Report:  Walleye fishing good most days.  Biggest 23 inches.  Pike fishing tougher.  Biggest pike 33 inches.  Rainy, cool, and windy weather acouple of days.  Got lots of pictures of a bear one day.  Also, got to see the northern lights, spectular.  Cabin was nice, L & M are the best!

Report:  First day we caught supper of fish for 4 people in the first 45 minutes of fishing.  Weather front moved in Tuesday, rained most of Wed, moved out Thursday.  Still caught enough walleye each day to eat.  Many 15-19 inch walleyes, largest pike 32 inches.  Fire tiger, 5 of diamonds, and shartruse were best colors.

Report:  Another great year.  Wonderful friends, good weather, excellent accomodations as always (Love the generator system to the cabin), and lots of Fish!!  1800+ walleyes (many quality size, one of the better years we've seen in sizes of walleyes), big northerns where 34, 35, 36, and 40 inches.  Girls worked on relationships and beating the guys in games again, and the guys fished alot to avoid more games!!

Report:  Numerous walleye between 15-20 inches.  Northerns were small.  Fishing the point in front of the cabin and rest of the lake produced.  The pull over lake is a must.  Saw a moose 3 differnt time, 1st time in the bay by the cabin then twice out on the islands.  Cabin was great.  L & M runs a top notch service.

Report:  Great size walleyes on this trip.  Good numbers too.  Enjoyed the improvements to the cabin of the generator system with the large refrigerators that actually made ice, and the fans in the cabin to circulate the air.  Boats ran well.  Weather cooperated, just one windy day.

Report:  Biggest walleye 22 inches.  Biggest northern 28 inches.  Caught lots of fish on the wind blown side of points, and in the river.  All in 4-12 foot of water.  Root river below the 2nd set of rapids held alot of fish.  Jim caught a 6 inch northern on a 4 inch rapala, Chuck Norris of the northerns.

Report:  Back to Wright after 3 years going to other lakes.  Walleyes noticably larger.  Lots in the 18-24 inch range.  Largest 27 inches.  With wind and sun, fish biting in the bays, on points, and rocks.  Cabin still great.  Equipment good and dependable.  Another 1st rate trip.

Report:  Thanks to Larry, Mary, and Shane.  As always everything was great.  The upgraded generator system was a great addition to the cabin.  Fishing was very good.  The 3 of us caught 887.  Caught pike by accident.  Biggest 32 inches.  Walleye fishing within 200 yards of the cabin was very good.  Biggest walleyes were.  1 @ 26 inches.  3 @ 25 inches.  9 @ 24 inches.  A whole bunch of 20-23 inches.  Thank you for everything.

Report:  Weather 75 degrees.  Fishing good, fish still in the river.  Saw 2 moose and one mink.  4th trip with L & M.  All were great.  Had a guest stop by on the last day while we ate breakfest, quick check by the game warden and all was good.  Thank you Mary, Larry, and Shane.  Hope to be back in 2014.

Report:  One of the best years fishing we've had since we starting coming in 1997.  80% of all the walleyes caught were over the 18 inch slot.  Atleast a dozen northerns over the 27 inch slot.  The largest being 39 inches.  A marvelous mixture of quality and quantity made for a wonderful trip.  Cabin was well equiped, and we all had a very good trip.

Report:  Fishing improved daily thru out the week with inlet rapids producing more than outlets.  Had serveral northerns 28-36 inch class and lots of walleye 17-21 inches.  Lures of choice included jigs/plastics, small rapala's, spoons.  Colors varied and fish responded to all colors with yellow, chartruse, orange being the preferred choice.  The outer edges of submerged weed lines produced good numbers and quality of fish too.

Report:  This was our 3rd trip to Fawcett Lake.  The weather was great, the facilities were great, actually perfect, but the fishing was fantastic.  Almost everyone of our group of 8 caught 24-26 3/4 inch walleyes, and our biggest northern was 42 inches.  Water was higher this year than the past 2 years so the rocks that where exposed prior are now under water in alot of places.

Report:  Good walleye fishing in 5 foot of water.  Lots of walleye 18-22 inches.  Average northern good size, biggest was 38 inches.  Wind swept bays equal good fishing.  5th trip to Wright lake, best fishing we've had to date.

Report:  Walleye fishing was outstanding with most fish ranging from 17-20 inches.  Live biat would have been a waste of time as it was easy to find areas where they would bite on almost every cast.  Northern pike were plentiful but disappointingly on the small size.

Report:  Fishing was Fabulous.  Just the 2 of us seasoned citizens landed over 1,400 "eyes".  (counting conservatilely).  Many 20-26 inch walleyes.  Had one day when eaters were hard to find, only caught big ones.  All were caught within 1/2 mile of camp.  Best fishing at Pete's Point within eyes sight of the camp.  See you next year!

Report:  Good walleye fishing at Strout.  Caught walleyes in the other lakes but more sparatic than at Strout.  Northern in all the usual places, caught more than we actually like, we like walleyes.  Big fish where 23 inch walleye and 38 inch northern.  A good time was had by all.  Really like the upgraded generator system.

Report:  Walleye fishing outstanding.  Fish in the rivers and the lake.  Good fishing even right infront of the cabin off the point.  Frozen salted minnows, best bait.  Cabin well maintained, warm and cozy on cold rainy days.  Hot shower an excellent attraction.  Everything well maintained and clean.  Thank you for the trip!!!

Report:  Fishing good near the riffles in the river areas.  Big pike for the trip, 35 inches.  Caught lots of walleye.  Cold weather, east winds, and rain moved in during the week and the fish slowed down compared to earilier in the trip.  Had a great time.

Group:  Thompson
Report:  The bite was on fire earily in the trip with numerous 20-25 inch walleyes, and large pike being caught in the outflow by the cabin.  A strong cold front with lots of wind came in and made for a lighter bite but we were still able to work for them and had a great week.  Largest walleye 28 inches, Largest northern 40 inches.  Wore shorts the first day, by end of the trip snow was in the air.

Report:  Phenomenal fishing....  piles of walleyes in the 22-26 inch class.  The group also caught 3 northerns in the 40-42 inch range.  Team AARP did miss the ground pig sightings this year.  We had tremendous weather with the exception of the last 2 days.  The fellowship was truely a pleasure to be part of.  Until next year!!

Lake:  Fawcett
Dates:  5/22-5/28/2013
Group:  Hanson Group from Wisconsin
Report:  1)  Rapids near cabin.  Few walleye and northern but not strong.  2)  Fawcett, NE corner to narrows.  Great walleye in narrows and hole on south end.  Some walleye and northerns through the channel.  3)  Narrows leading into Zionz Lake.  55 minute boat ride from the cabin, best to take extra gas to play it safe.  FISHING SPECTACULAR.  Walleyes in the channel near shoreline, from one end to the other.  15-23 inch avg.  Northerns, some inchude 31, 32, 36, 40 inchers in the channel current.  Caught 1, 31 inch Lake Trout too.
