Report: Trip was awesome! Weather was nice, never had to wear a coat. Caught lots of fish, bith walleye and northerns. Accomodations good, service was excellent (esp the cooking oil Larry dropped off that we forgot). I would recommend this trip as a vacation. Truely a beautiful place! Caught 34 1/2 inch and 36 inch northerns, walleyes up to 26 inches.

Report: Lots of northern between 5-10 pounds. No monsters but lots of fun. Walleye everywhere, size from 1 1/2 pounds to 3 pounds. Equipment all worked just fine. Ate fish everyday for lunch.

Report: Great trip. Windy first few days, NO rain!. 40 inch pike was the largest, 35-37 inches as well. Many pike 30-35 inches. Largest walleye was 29 inches and a 28 1/2 inch. Kaminiskag was "hot". Excellent hosts, very good camp. Best cabin we have been at!!

Report: Water everywhere (high water) and the fish on the move scattered from spot to spot. Blue skies and wind the first 5 days with 2-4 foot waves. Avg 25-30 fish per person per day. Fished hard but a great trip as always!!

Report: Cabin and equipment was top notch. Everything worked great. Here is our daily log, we quit counting fish at 100. 4 of us in the group. Sat August 22. Flew in. Fished south of the cabin by rapids. 100+ walleyes. Caught 2 at 4 1/2 pounds. 2 northerns 31 inches. Sunday August 23. Fished north end of Zionz. Rained all day. 100+ walleyes. Monday August 24. Fished the area between Fawcett and Zionz. Rained 6 hours. Caught 100+ walleyes. Tuesday August 25. Fished south end of Zionz, again caught 100+ walleyes. Wed August 26. Rain most of the day. Fished the north end of Zionz at the inflow coming in. 100+ walleyes with 4 over 4 pounds. Thursday August 27. Made the trip, circled Thistle island. Fished the channels along the way. 100+ walleyes. Friday August 28. Went fishing for northern. Trolling and casting. Caught many over 35 inches with 40 inch pike being the largest. Mainly caught trolling big lures. Sat August 29, flew back out.

Report: Good numbers of fish caught. Nothing large though. Most fish in 12-15 feet of water on outsides of weed edges. Leeches worked very well. Rattle traps and rapelas with blue and red seemed the best. L & M are top notch. Had a great trip.

Report: Of our many fly in adventures, this week was one of the best. Weather mostly cool and overcast with a couple of sunny days. Great fishing with the biggest walleye 26 inches. Biggest northern 36 inches. As always, excellent service and equipment. L & M is the best outfitter we have ever used.

Report: Moderate rain at the beginning of week, fishing started slow but got better as the weather improved. All portage lakes produced good numbers of walleyes, many 22 inchers. Joe (age 9) caught a 31 inch northern even on our slow day of fishing. Cabin, boats, motors all worked well. Kids had lots of fun! Great trip!

Report: Fishing good in the south river by the falls. Also by the 1st beaver lodge. Better fishing in the north falls inlet. Go to the 2nd falls. Lake very high due to lots of rain (water came over the dock during our trip). Caught 50+ fish per day per our party of 3.

Report: Cool, wet, yet the best fishing we have had in 12 years. Loads of walleye in the 19-21 inches. Dozens of 24-25+ inch walleyes. Had larger ones on but lost as we do not use a net, lost them at the boat. Great hospitality by L & M as always. A bit on the damp side with weather but thats part of the adventure.

Report: Lots of rain, but fishing was steady. Went through 50 doz minnows in 3 days with the 4 of us. South Shabumeni river very good in the mouth. 2nd falls on the north end had the most big walleyes. Lots and lots of walleye on the reef right outside the cabin. 100+ walleyes per boat 3 of our 4 days. Great trip.

Report: Great accomodations and plenty of fish! Rained every day, but not enough to keep us off the lake. Lots of walleyes caught on the upward side of bars in the rocks. Bass alittle shallower water. Northerns scattered. Skip lost a monster pike!!! One walleye had a mouse in its stomach! Saw one bear and lots of eagles. Did vast majority of the fishing in Fishtrap itself.

Report: Had a great time. Everyone caught plenty of walleyes with the largest being 26 inches. Few northerns. Fish mainly shallow on the reefs but still scattered. Report: Fishing was excellent. 60-70 walleye each day for our boat. Max fishing time 5-6 hours per day. Largest northern 39 inches. Plenty of 18-22 inch walleye. Super camp. Give it a 10 out of 10! Had the game warden stop by to check things out too.

Report: The facility was outstanding! Awesome views from all sides of the cabin. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Fishing was equally as good. Bottom bouncers with spinners proved to be right on producing many 15-19 inch fish, with the largest being 23 inches. Afew northerns 26-36 inches picked up along the way. Used chartruse gulp and gulp leeches worked very well and didnt need to worry about live bait. Trip of a lifetime for my wife and me.

Report: Hundreds of walleyes/northerns. Walleyes avg 16-19 inches, largest 24 1/2 inches. Biggest pike, 40 inches. Several 39 inch pike, and many 30++ inch pike. Strong winds (40 mph gusts) limited fishing first 2 days. Water temps 58-60 degrees. Fish transitioning from rivers to the lakes. Cabbage just now starting to come up. Lots of walleye still in the rivers. Big big scattered since cabbage not completely up. Mayflies now hatching, walleyes feeding on them heavy. Graniteboss slow. Strout was unbelievable as usual. Kaminskag....big pike in the cabbage in the 2st bay. Great trip, great fishing, best outfitter around!!!

Report: Awesome fishing! Caught 48 walleye in just 1 hour....they bite on anything including just minnow heads. Mostly deeper, 20 feet. Needed to fish "slow", and heavy jigs in the currents. Biggest walleye caught 25 1/2 inches, largest northern caught 35 1/2 inches. Take the tour around Gull-Zionz, and back. It is well worth it! Great adventure, we'll be back!! Thank you

Report: Wind prevented fishing the large water for 3 days. Largest walleye 26 1/2 inches, many 23-24 inches. Largest northern 37 inches. Lots of walleye in 13-20 feet on the structure. Always walleye in the river. Also, caught 15 walleye in 30 minutes fishing off the dock. Largest of those 23 inches. Good boats, handled big water well, good accomadations.

Report: A great experience, not only the fishing but the variety of adventures (4 lakes in 4 days fished). Fishing was great with plenty of walleyes in excess of 20 inches (largest 26 inches). Pike fishing was good especially on the pull over lake (plenty of 27 inch plus), largest pike 37 inches. Despite the 42 hours of rain the fishing never let down. Every spot mentioned was good fishing for almost the whole trip. Great trip!

Report: Day 1, 4 in our party flew out of base camp, thanks Larry for an excellent flight. Overcast, very windy and some rain. Fished 7 hours. Caught around 70 fish. 32 inch northern and 5 or 6 walleye over 18 inches. Day 2, extremely windy. Water white capping. Bright and sunny in the morning, afternoon rain. Fished 7-8 hours. Caught around 150 fish/ 28 inch northern and 21 inch walleye. Several over 18 inches. Day 3, extremely windy again. Water white capping. Sunny, fished 5 hours. Caught around 30 fish/ Day 4, overcast, fished 8 hours. Caught about 150 fish. 26 inch walleye, 23 inch walleye and a 21 inch walleye. Day 5, fished 7-8 hours. Caught about 70 fish. 30 inch northern and 27 inch northern. The cabin at Otatakan is awesome. The sun room and the flush toilet is a great addition. As usual, L & M made for a great trip and treated us like friends instead of customers.

Report: Lots of good sized walleye. More pike caught than walleye. Biggest walleye caught 30 inches. Biggest pike had to be 50 inches but couldnt get it in the boat. Saw lots of wildlife, between the group saw 3 Caribou and 3 Moose, along with otters, beavers, and mink.

Report: Caught walleye and northern on the wind swept points and bays. Marked more fish on Austin than I ever marked before on any other lake. Good lake, watch your prop! Excellent fishing right off the dock, both walleye and northern. Saw a big northern off the dock too. Weather was perfect for fishing and looking at the stars. We saw a black bear by our cabin too, very cool.

Report: Great fishing. Plenty of walleye 18-23 inches. Largest 23 1/2 inches. Tough to catch fish small enough to eat, which is a nice problem to have. Largest pike 36 inches. Jigs and twisters, copper spoons all worked well. The fish were everywhere! Plenty of fish at inlets and bays. Also caught many while drifting points of islands. We will be back.

Report: 7 days of fishing. Fish starting to move into the streams. Little weed bed growth yet. Large northerns in the pools before the narrows. Caught lots in the mid 30 inch range. Lost a couple of larger pike in the 40 inch plus category. Walleye fishing was great. Everything was caught on artificals. Did some fly fishing, caught 100+ walleye on the fly. Caught 200+ northerns on the fly.

Report: Another great L & M trip (our 9th). Our first trip to Fishtrap. Cabin, boats, motors, fish cooker, and grill all in good shape. Fishing was good. Caught plenty of walleyes for meals, too many bass to count, and lots of pike. Did not use any live bait. Weather was good except for some afternoon/evening thundering and lightening. We would come back to this lake

Report: Fish in the rivers. Walleyes 6-23 inches, numerous 19-22 inchers. Randall EL with the 35 inch Nort. Used mainly crawlers. Spewey got hit with blue chees dressing at the camp site. Saw moose, many beaver, and eagles. Fluids were in the correct dosage and we partied with both Jack and Daniels. Fish were in the barrel on the last night! Another great trip with L & M!! Weather warming. 100+ fish per boat, no real northerns to brag about on this trip. Did finish all our Beer!!

Report: Fishing was slower than usual on our previous trips to Austin. Hot, sunny, and calm water. Water temp went from 63 degrees to 75 degrees in 3 days. Walleye and pike both piked up the last acouple of days of our trip/ Great trip as always.

Report: Northern fishing was good in the Graniteboss river mouth. Walleye not in the usual spots yet compared to other years. Weeds just starting to grow. 25 inch walleye and 36 inch northern the biggest. Five of Diamonds good spoon for northern.

Report: Cabin and facilities EXCELLENT. Really appreciated the new bathroom facitity which added value to the accomindation! Had very good fishing. In excess of 1000 walleyes boated during our 3 days. We are repeat customers who intend to repeat!

Report: Weather was not as great as we would have liked, but it was good week for catching fish. We ate plenty of fish every day. Lots of portages which produced alot of good numbers along with size. Largest walleye 24 inches and the largest pike 40 1/2 inches. With numerous walleye above 18 inches and pike above 36 inches. Fish are really well fed here, thick and meaty. Good time had by all of course all good times comes to an end and we still after 2 weeks (spend the week before at Otatakan) hate to leave.

Report: Water temp at the end of our trip. 57 Degrees South River. 52 Degrees North River. Beginning of the trip about 5 degrees cooler. The biggest northern 40 1/4 inches and also caught 10 larger than 30 inches. The biggest walleye 24 1/2 inches. There was a wolf multiple times on the rock all week where we placed our fish guts and table scraps. Great trip L & M. See ya next year.

Report: Fishing was good at times, periods were slow. Seemed like at times the light switch was turned on then suddenly turned off. Still had a great time. Did catch one 25 inch Lake Trout too. Three days of cool, the last 2 days nice. Thanks for the trip

Report: Trip started out cool, with overcast, NE wind from Saturday through Wed. Then varible winds with scattered showers, did warm up on Friday before we left on Saturday. First fished the inflow river with leeches and plastic. Scattered, mostly 16-19 inches, afew 20 inch walleyes. Midweek we tried down the lake at the big reef and various points we've found productive in prior years, walleyes scattered with slow action.

Report: Fishing was good. Weather was cold with light rain off and on, but still good fishing weather with the right gear. Everybody ate as much walleye as they could handle. Caught 2 pike to make the 40 inch mark.

Report: June 4th. 8 of us flew in the morning. Fished the Shabumeni River, water temp 51 F. 40 walleye per boat and few northern. June 5th, Fished the Shabumeni River water temp still at 51 F. 100++ walleye per boat and acouple northern. June 6th, 2 boats Fished the Shabumeni River, water temp 52 F. 150+ walleye per boat and 1 boat caught acouple perch. The other 2 boats went to the north in flow and 8 northern there. Water temp 56 F. June 8th, no fishing, flew out in the morning. Used lead jigs all white and green 1/4 oz. Very great outpost camp and very clean.

Report: Fishing was great! Big numbers and quality of fish. Lots of walleye avg 22-26 inches. Biggest was 28 inhces. Biggest pike 37 1/2 inches. Only rained 1 day, but it was cold! and windy. Facilities were great. New guy of the group caught the biggest walleye starting at 26 inches and then caught the 28 incher. How's that for beginners luck.

Report: Fishing was very good. Walleye action was very good by the flowages, also off the rock points on the islands. Biggest walleye 25 inches. Northern action was alittle slower, however one of our party members caught a 35 inch pike on the very first cast of the trip off the dock. And the 2nd cast was a 40 inch northern. Great fishing and great service with L & M

Report: Fishing was poor. Weather changes recked havic. Remodeled cabin was very nice. A good time playing dominoes and introducing our brother in law, Stew Kurge to the northwoods after 26 years away in the big city. Four states, Wisconsin, Illinios, Indiana, and Idaho of the Troupis extended family all together.

Report: We have done many trips to various outposts around the area and have never experienced the attention to the detail by anyone to make our fishing trip as enjoyable and comfortable as L & M. From the intial contact, to the pleasant and relaxed check in procedure, the plane ride to and from the cabin/lake, it all focused on A-1 service provided by a group of people who want their customers to get the best possible Canadian adventure. Fishing was good on the nice weather days and slower on the nasty weather days. Fish are starting to transition from the rivers to the lake.

Report: Great fishing. 37 inch northern the largest. 24+ inch walleyes, lots of 18-22 inch walleyes. Cold water in the lake, rivers warmer. Fish were in the rivers. Snow, wind, and rain during the week.

Report: Cold weather. Fire in the stove every night. Avg fish could 65 a day. Best fish in 1 day was catching 265 fish, 1 boat/2 fishermen. This was our 9th trip to Wright. Biggest northern 21 pounds with numbers 24 inch walleyes.

Report: Weather changed every day, including snow, rain, sleet, and mixed with a bit of sun. Fishing was, as a result, not very good. Enough to eat and a few northern 30-36 inches. Givin it snowed in June and in the 20s for temps, it seems a bit of global warming would be a welcomed change.

Report: Sunday 5/31, Arrived at 730 am cold 47 degree high temp. Rained, windy. Fished outlet river. My wife and I (just the 2 of us on the trip) caught 12 walleye and 3 northern. Fished the SW river, caught 28 walleye and 7 pike. Monday 6/1,cold and rainy with wind again. Heavy frost in the am. Fished the SW river. Caught 61 walleye and 5 pike. Tuesday 6/2, Coldest day so far. High in the low 40's. Heavy frost again in the am. Rained in the pm. Fished the SW river, caught 43 walleye and 4 pike. Did a shore lunch at the north end of the lake. Wed, 6/3, Warmest day so far. Mid 50's. Sunny/partialy cloudy most the day. Fished the SW river earily am caught 83 walleye and 12. Had shore lunch by the SW river.

Report: Cloudy everyday with wind and cold. Fishing was the best the last day. Largest walleye 29 inhces and largest northern 37 inches, caught a lake trout too. 26 inch walleye was the money fish till the 29 incher was caught.

Report: Weather was cold and windy most days which made fishing interesting. The main inlet to the lake produced fewer fish than other years due to the weather conditions, but most points held fish. The inlet did net Shane his biggest northern to date. 42 inch, wow! The portage lakes were rock solid again this year netting the most fish and the largest walleye. Shane also topped his biggest walleye with one just shy of 26 inches. Thanks L & M

Report: Superb fishing, Superb camp with top notch facilities. Could not find a better operation (20 years of trips coming north). Walleye fishing was spectacular in the outlet with 100 fish per man common! The woodchuck in camp kept the older AARP members of our camp entertained through out the week. Nice work Larry, Mary, and Shane! We will return!!

Report: The weather was very cool for this time of year. Freezing temp each morning, but warming nicely by mid day. Majority of the fish in the warmer waters and rivers. 46 degrees in the lake and 5-10 degrees warmer in the rivers. Excellent walleye fishing as the spawning season approached its peak. 36 inch northern and several 24-28 inch pike. Another great year at L & M, but then again every year up here has been great!!

Report: Walleye fishing excellent on jigs near the south river mouth. Walleyes and northerns trolling points and in the bay out from the river mouth. Lost 1 36-40 inch pike otherwise all smaller pike under 4 pounds. Walleyes avg 19-20 inches with many 22-24 inches. Lost a 25+ inch walleye. Little action in the shallow bays or the north end of the lake. Vampire and Chartreuse Rapalas worked best.

Report: Cold weather couldnt stop us! Cold winds held us near the cabin. Walleye and northern in the bay by the cabin, and the river had them biting on rapala husky Jerks (firesticks). Walleye in Graniteboss. Northern and walleye in the bay of pigs as usual when water temps rose from 38 degrees to 50 degrees with the sun shine. Cabin Fine.

Report: At the start of the trip, the water temp was 36 degrees. The walleyes were scattered. First night of our trip lots of snow accomulation. As the week went on the snow melted and the water warmed, fishing got better. Towards the end of the trip we boated anywhere from 20-60 walleyes per day. The pike were in with the walleyes and where small.
